Gregory Garnier

Chief Executive Officer

Gregory Garnier was appointed as the Bank's Chief Executive Officer effective 23 September 2024. He has been with HSBC since 2002 and has worked in Paris, New York and Moscow, most recently as CEO of HSBC Russia from 2021-2024.

In his capacity as Chief Executive Officer, Gregory has management oversight and responsibility for all lines of business and functions within the Bank and leads the Executive Management Committee in setting strategic direction for the Bank.

Gregory has extensive experience in serving the largest and most sophisticated clients with corporate and investment banking products, senior business leadership, strategy development/execution, risk management and corporate governance.

Mr. Garnier holds an Ms. in Management, majoring in Finance, from HEC, Paris.

Executive Management Committee

Tanya Bule

Head of Wealth and Personal Banking

Tanya Bule was appointed as Head of Wealth and Personal Banking on 1 May 2020. Before her promotion to Interim Head of Wealth & Personal Banking (previously known as Retail Banking Wealth Management (RBWM)) in September 2019, Mrs. Bule joined the Bank in 2015 as Chief Operating Officer of the RBWM HSBC global line of business. Prior to that Mrs. Bule worked as an independent financial services consultant in the Middle East and before that she held a variety of management consultancy positions in financial services, banking (with Bank of Bermuda), the technology sector, as well as sales & leasing within the telecoms industry.

Shannon Burgess

Chief Risk Officer

Shannon Burgess was appointed as the Bank’s Chief Risk Officer on 6 November 2019. He joined the Bank in October 1995 as a Graduate Trainee and has held roles in Commercial Banking, Global Banking and Risk. He also spent some time working within the HSBC UK Project Export Finance Team in London.

In his capacity as Chief Risk Officer, Shannon is responsible for leading the Bank’s Risk Management Department in supporting the local lines of business, functions and Bank subsidiaries with all aspects of risk management, and oversees the Risk department’s efforts for regulatory reporting and prudential obligations imposed by the Bermuda Monetary Authority.

Shannon is highly proficient in credit analysis within the retail, wholesale and market risk sectors, and has extensive experience in risk management and corporate banking.

Shannon graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Howard University in Washington DC.

Rashid Daurov

Chief Financial Officer

Rashid Daurov was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Bank on 1 September 2020. Rashid joined HSBC in 2010 in Kazakhstan where he served as Chief Financial Officer. He also worked as Chief Financial Officer in HSBC Bank Malta and, most recently, Rashid was Head of Planning for the Global Service Company of HSBC Group in London. Prior to HSBC, he worked in audit and financial advisory with Ernst&Young and Deloitte.

In his capacity as Chief Financial Officer, Rashid is responsible for leading the Bank’s Finance department to ensure effective management of the Bank’s capital and liquidity, robust financial accounting and reporting, high quality support to local lines of business and regulatory reporting to the Bermuda Monetary Authority.

Rashid is a Certified Public Accountant (US) and holds an MSc Degree in Management from University of Bristol (UK).

Judith P. Doidge

Corporate Secretary

Judith Doidge is the Bank's Corporate Secretary, with responsibility for the company secretarial and corporate administrative affairs of the Bank. She joined the Bank in 1971 in the Investment division. In 1980, she was appointed the Bank's Trader and Representative on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

In January 1990 she moved to the post of Supervisor, Corporate Administration and Assistant Corporate Secretary and seven months later was appointed Corporate Secretary.

Judy was appointed a Vice President in December 1997 and an Executive Officer in August 2001. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and an Associate Member of the Institute of Directors.

Judy attended The Bermuda High School for Girls, Lawnside School in Malvern, England, and the London College of Secretaries.

Kristin Peterson

Chief Operating Officer

Kristin Peterson was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of the Bank on 1 July 2023. Kristin joined HSBC in 2009 and during her tenure she has held various management roles, the most recent as Chief Operating Officer of the Wealth & Personal Banking division, where she led transformation, forecasting and cost management, governance and risk management while providing leadership and oversight of cross-functional initiatives.

In her capacity as Chief Operating Officer, Kristin is responsible for operational oversight of the Bank including business management, operations, the risk and control environment for business lines, technology, corporate real estate, procurement, client services and change management.

Yolanda Outerbridge

Head of Human Resources

Yolanda Outerbridge is the Head of Human Resources (HR). Yolanda and her team are responsible for developing and executing human capital strategies for the organisation. The HR function includes responsibility for resourcing, reward and benefits management, employee relations, learning and development as well as talent management.

Yolanda joined the Bank in 2002 as the Global HR Director for Private Banking after completing an 8 year career in HR with Butterfield Bank. Subsequent to the HSBC amalgamation, Yolanda took on the role of Senior HR manager and moved to the corporate HR team where she focused on integrating Bank of Bermuda with HSBC. In her current role as Head of HR she is keenly focused on raising the employment brand of the organisation, human capital planning and effectively managing talent with a core focus on high potential talent.

Yolanda graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Acadia University and holds a post graduate diploma in Human Resources from Seneca College in Toronto. She also holds both a Professional Human Resources designation (PHR) through the Society of Human Resources Management and a certification through the HR Professional Association of Ontario.

Yolanda has over 14 years of Human Resources experience within the financial services arena. She is an Executive Director and Board member of the Bermuda Employer's Council and has worked as Chairperson and Board member of the Bermuda Financial Services Academy. She is an active Youth Net mentor and supports Prospect Primary's P1 class on a weekly basis.

Twynika Smith-Blakeney

Chief Compliance Officer

Twynika Smith-Blakeney was appointed as the Bank’s Chief Compliance Officer on 1 August 2021. She joined the Bank in December 1999 and has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including various roles within the Bank’s Asset Management and Compliance departments. In September 2020, Twynika was appointed as the Interim Head of Regulatory Compliance and in December 2020, was appointed as the Interim Chief Compliance Officer where she provided leadership to the Compliance function.

In her capacity as Chief Compliance Officer, Twynika is responsible for leading the Bank’s Compliance department to ensure that HSBC’s operations in Bermuda are effective in identifying, managing and mitigating Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime and Fraud risks.

Louise Twiss West

Head of Wholesale Banking

Louise Twiss West was appointed Head of Wholesale Banking (“WSB”) in August 2021. Louise joined HSBC in 2006, where she held the position of Senior Relationship Manager in Corporate Banking and then Vice President, Corporate Development. In 2009, Louise was appointed Head of Business Development and client service for HSBC Global Asset Management, Bermuda. She assumed the role of Associate Director in the Financial Institutions Group (“FIG”) in 2012 and from 2015 she held the position of Head of FIG, responsible for a dedicated team handling global business development and risk management for a portfolio of (re)insurance clients. Prior to joining HSBC, Louise held roles in management consultancy and technology firms in New York.

In her capacity as Head of WSB, Louise is responsible for leading and developing the WSB team, with full credit and operational risk oversight and responsibility for the formulation and implementation of business strategy. She also serves as a Director for HSBC Global Asset Management (Bermuda) Limited.

Louise graduated Cum Laude from Princeton University, and holds an MBA from Columbia University and London Business School.

Jill Virgil-Smith

General Counsel

As the General Counsel for the Bank, Jill is responsible for the management of the Bank’s Legal Department and, together with her team of experienced in-house lawyers, provides legal support to all divisions of the Bank. Jill joined the Bank in September 2004 and was appointed General Counsel in August 2013.

Gokmen Yavuz

Head of Global Markets and HSBC Securities Services

Gokmen Yavuz was appointed Head of Global Markets and HSBC Securities Services in April 2023. He joined HSBC in 2005 as a local markets trader in Türkiye after several years of trading experience in the market. He then held various positions in different geographies across the region. He was appointed as Head of Markets, HSBC Kazakhstan in October 2009, followed by Head of Markets HSBC Poland in February 2013, where in both roles he was a member of the executive committee of the bank. He then moved back to Türkiye to head up Corporate and Institutional & Wealth Sales teams in Türkiye between end of 2016 and July 2022. Before Bermuda, his last role was Head of Markets & Securities Services for Channel Islands & Isle of Man, where he was also a member of the executive committee of the bank.

Gokmen’s experience covers a wide range of areas in Global Markets, from FX and rates trading to different lines of Sales, and in parallel several years of markets management practice while being a member of bank executive committees. He holds a MSc Degree in Financial Engineering from Bogazici University (Türkiye).

Christopher P. Davies

Employee non-executive Director

Appointed to the Board: 13th February 2014

Christopher Davies joined the HSBC Group in 1985. He is currently Deputy Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Continental Europe. Mr. Davies joined HSBC Continental Europe in 2019, moving from HSBC Bank plc, London (“HBEU”) to lead the integration of the ‘European Economic Area’ element of the HBEU network into HSBC France in the run up to ‘Brexit’. He was appointed an HSBC Group General Manager in 2017. Mr. Davies had previously led and developed the 18 markets of HBEU’s international network since 2013, as CEO International, HBEU. With the integration now complete, his principal focus as Deputy CEO is on steering the substantial transformation activity of HSBC Continental Europe. Prior to his HBEU International role, Mr. Davies was located in Shanghai, China and was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, HSBC Bank (China) Company Ltd. In addition to leading a wide range of businesses and functions, Mr. Davies led the major expansion of the HSBC Group into Guangdong Province, now a key element in the Group’s Greater Bay activities. From 2004 to 2010, Mr. Davies led and developed firstly Global Banking Americas (North and Latin America), and then for 4 years he was Head of Commercial Banking (CMB) North America, where he led the exit from a Joint Venture with Wells Fargo and the subsequent pan-USA expansion of the CMB business. Other prior roles of note include Credit and Banking Services Director, First Direct (the HSBC Group’s UK direct bank), and Director, Leveraged Finance in New York.

Mr. Davies was educated at the University of Oxford, England (MA Modern Languages).

Fiona E Luck

Ms. Luck is a retired financial services executive with more than 40 years’ industry experience in global financial services, insurance and reinsurance. She was Executive Vice-President and Chief of Staff at XL Group until 2010. Earlier, she worked at Ace Bermuda, leaving as Executive Vice-President of joint ventures and strategic alliances. Previously Ms. Luck led Marsh & McLennan’s Bermuda operation as Managing Director.

Ms. Luck is a non-executive director of HSBC Insurance (Bermuda) Limited, HSBC Insurance SAC 1 (Bermuda) Limited, HSBC Insurance SAC 2 (Bermuda) Limited, Convex Group Holdings Limited, Lloyd’s of London Council and Chair of Phoenix Re. She previously was a non-executive director at the Bermuda Monetary Authority, Hardy Ltd., Catlin Group Ltd., Allied World Holdings Ltd and Ras Al Khamaih International Corporate Centre. She is also a Trustee of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation in the UK and a Director of KnowledgeQuest, a Bermuda charitable organisation.

Ms. Luck qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland UK in 1982 and holds a BA Hons. in Economics and Finance from Manchester University, UK (1979).

Gil Tucker, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, is a retired Managing Partner of the Bermuda office of Ernst & Young and retired Chairman of the Financial Services Office of Ernst & Young, Bermuda. Mr. Tucker is presently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Saltus Grammar School and a member of the Bermuda Government’s Financial Policy Council. He is an executive director of Bermuda First, past President of the Bermuda Hamilton Rotary Club and past Chairman of the Bermuda Career Centre.

John Wight

John Wight has over 38 years of experience in the financial services sector in Canada and Bermuda. Mr. Wight started his professional career with Ernst & Young, Montreal before transferring to Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC), in Bermuda.

Mr. Wight holds professional designations as a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, with a major in Accounting from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He also received a degree in Accounting at Concordia prior to earning his Chartered Accountant Designation and holds a Fellowship with CPA Bermuda.

Mr. Wight recently retired as Group Chairman & CEO of BF&M Limited and is the past President of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, a past Council Member of the Bermuda Stock Exchange and a past member of the Ministry of Finance Insurance Advisory Committee. Prior to becoming Group Chairman & CEO of BF&M Limited in 2019, he held the position of President & CEO from 2005, and before that Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Wight is a director for several outside companies, including Chairman of Bermuda Container Line. In November 2020, Mr. Wight was appointed to the position of Independent Senator in the Upper House of Parliament in Bermuda.

Lorianne Gilbert

Ms. Gilbert is a corporate and regulatory lawyer with over 25 years’ diverse experience in public and private organisations across a variety of industries, including telecommunications and energy. She has worked as a corporate lawyer with some of Bermuda’s leading law firms and has served as General Counsel, Company Secretary and a key member of the executive management teams of KeyTech Limited (now One Communications Ltd.) and Ascendant Group Limited (now Liberty Group Limited).

Ms. Gilbert is a graduate of Wake Forest University and The London School of Economics and Political Science and is a member of the Bermuda Bar Association and the Bar of England and Wales. She has served on various Bermuda Government and Quango Boards as well as industry and charitable Boards.
